1956年に始まった伊豆大島を代表するお祭り｜伊豆大島 椿まつり

伊豆大島では毎年1月から3月下旬まで、椿まつりが行われる。

この椿まつりは椿の花が咲く季節に合わせて春の訪れを祝う伊豆大島の象徴とも言える一大イベントだ。初日には江戸みこし＆あんこパレード、御神火太鼓の披露などが行われ、町も活気づく。祭り期間中は元町港の中でも伝統衣装着付け体験や椿油を使ったハンドマッサージなど様々なイベントが行われ、大島の文化に触れることができる。

On Izu Ōshima, the Camellia Festival is held every year from January to late March.
This festival, timed with the blooming season of camellias, is a major event that symbolizes the island and celebrates the arrival of spring. On the opening day, events such as the Edo-style portable shrine procession and the Anko Parade, as well as performances of the Gojinka Taiko drums, bring lively energy to the town. Throughout the festival period, various activities are offered around Motomachi Port, including traditional costume dressing experiences and hand massages using camellia oil, allowing visitors to experience the culture of　Izu Ōshima.
